Block Paving construction procedures are as follows.

All the construction area will be excavated and removed to a minimum depth of 250mm. Sometimes the driveway will require drainage, if so this will be laid and connected to remove surface water from the new driveway.

The next stage is were we lay  your chosen decorative edge restraint around the perimeter this is  laid and secured on a concrete mixture this will stop your driveway from spreading in the future.

A Geo- textile membrane is then laid over the excavated area to separate the sub soils from the aggregate  to stop them mixing it also aids drainage and prevents weed growth.

The excavated area will then be infilled with a minimum of 175mm of type 1 aggregate stone and compacted.

All the area is then covered with sharp grit sand  then compacted and screed leveled to the required height.

Now we can lay the block clay or rumble paving to a design and colour of your choice, once all the paving has been laid kiln dried sand is applied over the block paving  and the whole area is compacted  to the level of the edge restraint.

The new block paved design is then covered with further kiln dried sand and swept in to seal the paving  joint, any debris is then cleared away.

Your new Block paved Driveway  is ready to be used.
